Presented by Aroha and Chamber Music NZ, this event features a powerful collaboration of music and poetry. The renowned New Zealand musiciansâPeter Scholes (clarinet), Simeon Broom (violin), James Tennant (cello), and Katherine Austin (piano)âperform Messiaenâs iconic eight-movement quartet, composed in a WWII prisoner of war camp. Accompanied by poet Faumuina Felolini Maria Tafunaâi, whose evocative Pacifica poetry addresses the climate change crisis, the performance blends transcendent music and poignant words, reflecting on the core of human existence and the courage needed in the face of todayâs global challenges.

Step into the world of kapa haka with the Turner Centre's 8-week program led by NgÄti RÄhia's Rawi Pere, Crystal Harden, Denny Harden, and Daniel Kaiawe. Immerse yourself in this cultural journey exploring Poi, Haka, Choral, Action Songs, and Entry Waiata, culminating in a performance on June 25th during Matariki week where you will take the stage on front of friends and whÄnau. Limited to 50 spaces, participants must commit to all 10 sessions, including the final performance. Join us to strengthen community bonds and promote inclusivity through the transformative power of kapa haka.
